Key skills and experience include an overall appreciation of the Rail environment including knowledge of specific safety requirements and skills needed to access sitesT and understanding of the Rules of the Route. Knowledge of the Network Rail GRIP process and what happens at each stage ie GRIPs 2-5 varying levels of design, GRIPS 6-8 implementation and the deliverables in terms of documentation required at each stage. Experience of writing technical documentation to support the bid submission covering areas such as system architecture, proposed products and installation methodology.
Methodical approach to work and adherence with the Sales process.
Experience of Microsoft Office/Excel spreadsheet formation
Experience in a relevant bid role for at least 5 years, preferably longer.

Ability to work to deadlines effectively.
Technical knowledge of all Rail-related Telecoms systems including:
Operational Telecoms – lineside telephones, telephone concentrators, PETS, CCTV at level crossings, LOC cabinet, REBs and Signal Box infrastructure, copper and fibre cabling and transmission.
Retail Telecoms – CCTV, PA, CIS, Help points, cabling systems, transmission.
